Mary Seacole Memorial Association – Annual Commemoration

On 04 May 2019, some of our Trustees attended the annual commemoration of Mary Seacole at Kensal Green Cemetery. This event was hosted by the Mary Seacole Memorial Association and attended by the Mayor of Brent.

Following the procession, Trevor Sterling laid flowers and a service was then held at St Mark’s Church to celebrate Mary’s life and her achievements.

Later that evening, Trevor Sterling and his son, Rio Sterling (MST Youth Advisory Committee Member) attended an evening fundraising dinner and reception attended by the Jamaican High Commissioner. The Mary Seacole Trust has supported enhanced educational tools, by shipping computers to schoolchildren in Jamaica.
