MARY SEACOLE & ME STORYTELLERS
NHS England have launched a new partnership with the Mary Seacole Trust (MST) to raise the profile of internationally/diaspora educated nurses and midwives and their contribution to the healthcare system and communities in the UK.
Mary Seacole was an international nurse who overcame incredible challenges to help those in need and we wanted to hear and learn from nurses and midwives who have similar stories to tell; as “Modern Day Marys”.
Following an induction programme for successful applicants, the Mary Seacole Trust has now launched a diverse network of ‘Mary Seacole & Me Storytellers’ who will deliver talks on behalf of the charity to our communities; through schools, hospitals and organisations, telling not only Mary’s story but their own.
More information about the programme can be found HERE.
Our Storytellers
Our Storytellers’ profile videos are available to view below, with some more information about them in their bio.
Should you wish to engage one of our Storytellers to deliver a talk at your organisation or school, please contact us at: storytellers@maryseacoletrust.org.uk with details of your talk and your preferred Storyteller.
While there is no cost to engaging our Storytellers, their reasonable expenses would need to be covered and for organisations in the private sector, we would also recommend a donation to the Mary Seacole Trust, which will go towards future funding for this initiative. To donate, please use the donation button at the top of this page or click HERE.
