A tribute to Jon Daniel

The Mary Seacole Trust pays tribute to Jon Daniel, the independent creative director, designer and columnist, who died earlier this month at the age of 51, following a short illness.

Classically trained as a graphic designer, Jon was an art director for many of London’s leading advertising agencies in a career spanning over twenty-five years. He designed the beautiful programme for the Mary Seacole statue unveiling ceremony in June 2016, with typical generosity giving his time free of charge.

As one of the most prominent and recognised creatives of his generation, Jon was always a strong advocate for the promotion of the rich historical legacy of African diaspora people.

Jon is survived by his wife Jane and two sons Noah and Gil.
