The Mary Seacole Trust is proud to announce that trustee Karen Bonner has been appointed chief nurse at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.
Karen, who heads the MST Leadership Programme, is currently divisional director of nursing for planned care at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. She has previously worked at a number of major London hospitals and is a member of the NHS national Workforce Race Equality Standards Advisory Board.
She said: ‘I am delighted to be taking up this new role and look forward to joining the team at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust .’

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust provides both acute and community services.
According to the NHS Workforce Race Equality Standard 2019, Karen’s appointment will bring the number of chief nurses from BAME backgrounds in the NHS up to ten when she takes up the post on March 30. There are 227 NHS trusts in England.
